Novacell, one of the top stem cell research companies has been able to create some amazing things from stem cells such as these examples mentioned in the article.
"In November 2001, when Baetge joined Cythera, it had not made even one stem cell line from embryonic stem cells. So Baetge and his team started from scratch.
In 2005, his team published a study showing they could coax human embryonic stem cells to become endoderm cells, a lineage of cells that eventually turn into the pancreas, liver, lungs, intestine and other visceral organs.
In 2006, the team showed it could develop these cells further in a Petri dish until they became fetal endocrine cells that produce insulin and many other hormones. "
Obviously this would be amazing if it were to actually come into production.
But like most scientific tests, these things take time and money.
The other problem is the never ending embryo debate.
Although late last year or early this year, stem cell companies were able to create stem cells from human skin cells, instead of using the embryo.
If the embryo debate causes legal issues then could they not use the human skin cells?
